21 Jan 2025: BICC Minor Rd 4;  next matches in  League

The draw for the 4th round of the Borders Mio is up, with some very intersting ties: for example the top board clash between Alan Armstrong and Mark Gardiner. Both players are on 3/3, so this match might even decide the championship.

The next matches in the League are, first of all, Selkirk A v Gala.  This will take place in the Town Arms on Tuesday 28th Jan. The following week, on Wednesday 5th February, Kelso are at home to the NHS team. This will be held in the BGH.

Selkirk Championship: 14 Jan 2025

One game was played on Tuesday, when Kevin Poulton (White) won against Bill Miller in a close and well-contested game.  In doing so, Kevin overcame a 538 point deficit -  and may well be the Border League's giant killer of the season.  After a shaky start to the Championship, Kevin now moves to a healthier 2 points.
